2011 to 2016

2016 marked the 6th Annual Tin ‘n 10er, hosted by Suicidal Tendencies Motorcycle Club, a motorcycling charity event that saw hundreds of bikers delivering tin foods to assist an old age home in desperate need of assistance.

Since January 2011, the Suicidal Tendencies Motorcycle Club (established 1997) has been hosting the annual charity event in aid of the aged with an average attendance of 500 bikers over the 6 years.

Tin ‘n 10er aimed to:

  • Improve the image of bikers
  • Distribute tin foods collected along with perishables and toiletries to under-funded and neglected senior citizens via an old age home.

Held on the last Saturday of January every year, Tin n 10er was a lekker old school jol for bikers and bike enthusiasts alike. The event itself normally lasted 8 hours with stalls, attractions and entertainment on the cards.

From 2011 to 2014, entry fee to the event called for a tin of food and a R10.

For Tin n 10er 2015 and 2016, instead of the usual R10 & a tin of food as entry fee – and selling all drinks at R10 – it was a R100 free for all. 10 x 10ers (R100) and a tin – or R110 if you forgot the tin – got you through the gate and access to an OPEN BAR.

Safety and Security: Entry into the venue wase strictly controlled with secure parking provided and security on patrol throughout the day.

Entertainment: Stage Area – For Prize Giving and DJ or Band ; Bikini Bike Wash – Duration: approximately 4 hours; Fun and Games played throughout the day

Stalls: 2 x food stalls & a Novelty stall

Tin n 10er provided significant sponsorship opportunities. Flyers and Posters were printed and distributed to local businesses and bike shops.

Sponsors were provided with flyers and posters for their own distribution and encouraged to feature Tin n 10er in their advertising during the period leading up to the event.

Everyone was welcome to participate on the same basis as bikers!

All tin foods collected (along with perishables and toiletries purchased from proceeds of the event) are donated to an old age home in desperate need of assistance,.

Our 2011 beneficiary was the Kuils River Old Age Home, while our 2012 to 2016 beneficiary was the Sen-Cit Old Age Home in Gordons Bay.
